Epic frustration with a big production push tonight. Three hours to determine one file was missing. No one’s fault, really, but I’m annoyed and exhausted nonetheless. I came home and have been testing from here to make sure no show-stoppers made it through, but everything looks good so far. After an hour, I’m in need a hot chocolate break.
I love coming home at night. The porch light of our building flicks on when you walk up, as if to say, “Oh, hi! Welcome home. Let me light the way for you.” The space is truly too small for two tall people, so we probably won’t renew our lease here in June, and that makes me a little bit sad. After bouncing around for six years, this place finally feels like home—though that probably has less to do with the space itself and more to do with who lives in it. :)
Thanksgiving Day was extremely lazy. We’d gone shopping the night before, and Josh worked for a few hours in the middle of the day, so there was little for me to do until late afternoon when I started cooking. Apple-onion pork chops, asparagus, parsnips, and brown rice dressing for dinner, with baked apples and eggnog for desert. Hugely successful, I don’t mind saying.
We spent the weekend with Josh’s family in southern Missouri/northern Arkansas. Other than a bit of a debacle with the rental car, everything went smoothly. I nearly went into SWEET POTATO OVERLOAD, but it was well worth it. Josh’s sister has whooping cough, and he may have caught it from her. There’s apparently been an outbreak of a mutated strain in that region. I feel fine so far, so I think I’ve avoided catching it for now.
Well, the hot chocolate is gone, and this website won’t finish testing itself. Then it’s a hot shower, bed, and snuggles with my kalit’ah.
